Merry Christmas.

It’s been a long time, and I feel like I owe an explanation to those who have noticed my absence. The short answer is that I lost my mother to cancer late last year and have spent the bulk of the time since getting my bearings again. Ultimately, as much as I wanted to write, I simply didn’t have the emotional bandwidth to during what turned out to be the final months of my mom’s life, and in the year since her death, I have honestly just been adjusting to going on without her.

This isn’t to say that I haven’t been paying attention to politics in the meantime. Things have continued unfold, and I’ve commented on those things on the Liberty is For The Win Facebook page (click to follow). The country has been gripped by record inflation, political drama in the rise and fall of Kevin McCarthy, and the slow plodding advance of justice befalling the world’s worst miscreant, Donald Trump, not to mention all of the nonsense going on internationally.

None of this mattered in the shadow of the loss of my mother… But I’ve started to get my bearings again, and I’ve decided to get back to writing in the new year.
