Brain Drain: Trump Derangement Syndrome

“Now this is the inscription that was written out: ‘MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.”
Daniel 5:25

June 14, 1993 currently marks the last day the great State of Texas was represented by a Democratic Senator. For the first time in a generation, however, this decidedly red state is in serious danger of turning more than a little blue, based on a Quinnipiac poll released yesterday, which showed incumbent Senator Ted Cruz (R) only 3 points ahead of his challenger Beto O’Rourke (D), well within a margin of error of +/-3.6 points. Let’s reiterate, this is happening in Texas.

Trump’s die hard supporters, if they are even consciously aware of this troubling bit of news (facts inconvenient to their orange messiah usually simply go ignored as if they don’t exist), dismiss it as either fake news or point out how wrong polls were in 2016 (except those polls weren’t actually wrong). The truth is that Donald Trump‘s supporters willingly live in a bubble of perception not simply dominated by Donald Trump and his propagandists but one carefully constructed by them.

Trump Derangement Syndrome presents with three core symptoms:

  1. America is under attack by nefarious forces. Whether that be the “globalist elite“, which is code for socialist leftists, Jews, or both, depending on who you ask and how much time you invest in bothering them until they admit they mean Jews.
  2. The American political system is hopelessly corrupted by everyone, except, of course, by Donald Trump, who is as pure as the driven snow, but the FBI, the CIA, the American judicial system, the Supreme Court, Wall Street bankers, the United Nations, and, obviously, the American media are all corrupt and out to “get Trump“.
  3. The only solution to these problems is to blindly support Donald Trump and to viciously attack anyone who threatens Trump.

An ancillary belief, which is also necessary to the cult, is that Trump is always winning (especially when he’s losing). In short, Trump’s movement is identical in every respect to the worst political cults of human history. This is the mythos of the infallible leader that all such strong man governments depend upon, and Trump, along with his cabal of surrogates, government proxies, and PopCon pundits, reinforces this nonsense every single day.

“Our glorious idea is ruined.. The world that comes after the Führer and national socialism is not any longer worth living in and therefore I took the children with me, for they are too good for the life that would follow…”
Magda Goebbels

Most of Trump’s inner circle are every bit as sycophantic as the rank and file Trump supporter is. History is rife with examples of people who will go down with the proverbial ship, from Marc Antony (died 30 BC) to Korechika Anami (died 1945). It’s the very reason why they’re in the inner circle to begin with. Like Joseph Goebbels was with Adolf Hitler, there are always true believers who are so deluded they will die for their false autocratic messiahs.

Then there are the men and women who have attached themselves to his movement for their own personal gain. This is especially true of the PopCon pundit class, who are far more interested in selling books and ad revenue than a consistent political ideology. Most of them, for the most part, believe in the (white) nationalist message that the United States needs political policy that primarily benefits (white) Americans. Fox News has a full line up of exactly these scandalous villains and conspirators.

And finally, there’s the real sad sacks who actually think they can, by merely supporting a man who even ignores his own Chief of Staff, somehow bring this flaming bird down for anything resembling a graceful landing, let alone a successful flight. These people have fooled themselves into believing Trump’s unsubtle (white) nationalist socialist populist propensities can somehow be separated from his often flailing policy positions or, worse, that his conspicuous legal and moral vulnerabilities do not represent an imminent danger to not only conservatism but to our nation’s very security.

“Sometimes it is better to lose and do the right thing than to win and do the wrong thing.”
Tony Blair

As is the case with all such authoritarian regimes, Trump will be surrounded by a crowd of rabid sycophants, self serving courtiers, and self deluding naive fools right up until his (hopefully) inevitable end. The tragedy of good men and women doing evil in the name of “the good” today is that they are not only doing evil, but they are tarnishing the name of “the good” while simultaneously robbing the world of the same good men and women needed to continue the fight tomorrow.

The choice between Trump and the good was not a hard choice. It is tragic so many have chosen their idols over the truth.

I don’t know what point you’re trying to make. You don’t like Blair? Fine… but you’re not dealing with the argument.

I keep asking Americans these questions and never get an answer:

When was the Popular Vote campaigned for, held, and counted?

Have you finished counting the (mainly forces and businessmen) postal vote yet?!

    1. Mr B J Mann says:

Oh, and why do the people who insist the Electoral College result should be replaced by the mythical “Popular Vote” also insist that the actual Popular Vote Brexit decision should be “Trumped” by little Scotland, tiny Northern Ireland and miniscule Gibraltar’s State “outvoting” of England and Wales 3-2?!?!?!!!

Show me where I advocate for a direct popular vote. I actually advocate that most plebes shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Democracy is a Progressive Era idea. The vote used to be at least somewhat limited, for bad reasons (Racism) but also for legitimate reasons (the uneducated hordes of proletariat workers, like union workers, have no business voting for candidates for whom they have no idea what they actually do).

      2. Mr B J Mann says:

You seemed (suddenly) to be very supportive of pleb and prole popular polling:

“except those polls weren’t actually wrong”

“An ancillary belief, which is also necessary to the cult, is that Trump is always winning (especially when he’s losing).”

Or had you only been canvassing your own opinion?

And why not, when you can not only understand the real agendas of even those you don’t know, and would never even speak to, but can remotely psychoanalyse and diagnose everyone who doesn’t agree with you 100%

If I hadn’t been paying close attention to your claims I could very easily have mistaken you for a projecting “progressive” loony lefty “liberal”.

What with all the sexism, classism and racism that oozes and squirts from everything you write!

      Not sure what you’re asking.
